TV!

I haven't blogged for ages! Here goes:

I don't know if anyone has been watching much tv, but our weather has been so crappy so I have been! All my favorite shows are winding down for the season and getting good! Here's what I've liked so far:

First of all, I'm SO happy that Lee DeWyze was crowned winner of Idol. However, I am sad that it was Simon's last episode. The finale was SO good! They had lots of wonderful and talented guests such as Alanis Morissette, Dane Cook, Hall & Oates, Joe Cocker, Janet Jackson, and all previous Idol winners. It was just so entertaining! I will miss Simon, he was my favorite and pretty much my whole reason for watching the show. But I am so happy Lee won. I really thought Crystal had it in the bag, but I was pleasantly surprised!
Glee has just been phenomenal, as always! This week was the Gaga episode and I loved it. I absolutely love everything about that show and it is just getting better and better.
The Bachelorette started this week and there are some pretty interesting guys on there! My favorite already is Roberto. Lol, although the dork in cowboy boots was good, too.

Gossip Girl's season finale was juicy! *spoiler alert* Chuck Bass better live or I won't be watching anymore. Although, I could see him dying and then haunting Blair Waldorf and all the other upper east siders. He could be like Stefano on Days of Our Lives and never really go away... ridic! And Jenny Humphrey needs to go away permanently... just plain annoying.

I was disappointed in the Office finale, although I am glad Holly might be returning! I think Holly and Jan will have to have a show down over Michael at some point and that will be interesting! I really like Kathy Bates on that show too, she really gives it another level of comedy that I don't think it tapped into previously.
I hope there are some new and good shows starting this summer. Although, I don't plan on watching much TV when the weather is actually nice! Now if Idaho would just get with the program...

Hooray!

Sorry I haven't posted for a while! I have been up to my eyeballs in math lately! But ALAS! I am DONE with Math 209! HOORAY!

Justin was steelheading last weekend, so I stayed at my Mom and Dad's. I really didn't do much of anything but math. I had my final exam to finish, which was hella difficult. I finished the last problems kind of half heartedly, because I was so exhausted with math. I checked in yesterday to see if my teacher had posted any grades yet, and sure enough, I got an A on my final and an A in the class! Amazzing! I haven't had an A in math since 7th grade!

The sad thing is... I had to start a new math class this week! But it is Math for Elementary Educators, and so far it isn't bad. Its actually kind of fun! Lots of games and puzzles... different way of teaching kids, etc.

I'm still working on my running and I'm up to about 3.2 miles. I'm going to try for 3.4 or 3.5 tonight. My race is in 4 weeks!

Although I've been busting my butt running... I'm not losing ANY weight these days! I could be doing a little better on my diet, but its not like I'm eating candy and junk food all the time or anything either.
I need something new in my diet to mix things up. Mindy (my workout friend) and I have decided to try the Special K Diet. Supposedly, by eating their meals 2 times a day (either cereal or protein shakes), 2 snacks, and a light dinner, I will lose 5 lbs in 2 weeks. We'll see! Hopefully it will work! I could eat cereal until I'm blue in the face, so I'm actually looking forward to this transition. I'll let everyone know how it works out.

Weekend Fun!

This weekend was fun! Justin and I went to the drive in on Friday and saw Date Night.

I loved it and would highly recommend it! It was super funny. We took our truck and I planned on just sitting inside, but when I went downstairs Justin had the bed full of blankets and camp pads. He convinced me to watch outside, even though it was cold. I was OK until about halfway through the movie. I bit into my candy bar and it was frozen solid! Needless to say, we watched the second movie inside.

The second movie was Percy Jackson. I tried SO hard to stay awake, but alas, halfway through the movie, gave in to sleep.

On Saturday I went to Blackfoot and had lunch with my darling little cousins, Jake and Katelynn, and their mom, Lori. Then, I went over to the Weaver's and played some Wii with Jessi. This was my first time playing Wii (yes, I know, I live under a rock or something). I loved it. I think I want to buy one for us! Although, I'm not a big video game person, and I'm afraid that if I got one it would get lots of use for the first 2 weeks, then just sit and collect dust.

I've also been doing my running. It is coming along. Last night I did almost 40 minutes and a faster pace toward the end. I'm really close to my 5K now! I'm really sore today though!

And just in case you didn't know... Glee is starting tonight! HOORAY!

Justin sent me this link the other day. It is pretty much the funniest thing I've ever seen!

Happenings...

It has been a while since my last post! The stupid math class I'm taking is just occupying all too much of my time. Here are some of the current happenings in my life!

Justin went on a fishing trip last week. He left on Wednesday and didn't plan to return until Saturday. I got a couple of books, caught up on homework, and spit shined my apartment. To my surprise, he called me Friday afternoon to tell me he was almost home. I was really surprised and asked him what had happened. Turns out he and the guy he was with caught 54 steelhead in 2 days! They met their limit and had no room in the truck for more fish! That is just unheard of. I am still astonished!!!

When Justin got back, we went to see "Hot Tub Time Machine." It was pretty funny, loved the outfits from the 1980's! The language was a little much for me, but for the most part, it was pretty hilarious. I think Chevy Chase was probably my favorite in the whole movie, even though his part is somewhat small. I've DONE IT! Well... almost! I am on my very last week of Couch to 5K. I did my 30 minute run on Thursday and I think it went pretty well. According to the treadmill, I'm just under a 5K though. I need to pick up my pace a little bit. But STILL! I am really proud of myself for sticking it out! The coolest thing happened to me while I was at the gym running! I was plugging along, just getting going with my workout. Some "skinny bitch" (you all totally know the kind I'm talking about!) got on the treadmill next to me and started jogging. Within a few minutes, it was apparent she just couldn't take it and had to quit! I out RAN the skinny bitch! Victory was MINE! Speaking of the gym, Mindy (my faithful workout partner) and I joined a local gym and I'm loving. it. Tanning, personal TVs attached to my treadmill, and all the weights a girl could ask for... I will be skinny and tan in no time!

This weekend we had my Grandma's 82nd birthday party at my Mom and Dad's house. It was fun helping my mom do all the cooking an prep for the suaree. All the family came over and we had a really fun time! Then, for Easter, Justin and I went to his family's house. We had a nice lunch with them and played outside with our dog, Lucy (cutest pup EVER! She has grown a lot since this picture, though). It was a good weekend!

I also finished "The Doctor's Wife." It was SO good! I really didn't know what to expect when I started reading it. It wasn't recommended to me by anyone (most of what I read is a recommendation), I just picked it up at Wal Mart, read the cover, and was intrigued. I have to say that the twisted relationship between all the characters involved really kept me turning the pages as quickly as I could. It is quite dark, but in a fascinating way. The story just kept me really enthralled! I would recommend it.

Today, I moved on to The Vampire Diaries. I am about 3 chapters in... and I think it's a little juvenile. So far, it has moved fairly quickly, though, and it is a light, easy read. Which is not altogether a bad transition after the dark and sinister "The Doctor's Wife." I'll report back on Vamp Diaries after I finish.

New Reads

Justin is going on a fishing trip soon, so I'm going to catch up on some reading! I love reading. The problem is, I just don't have as much time as I'd like to do it. It seems like I always have textbooks to read these days! Anyway, these are my new reads that I'm really looking forward to:From what I've heard about this book, it is supposed to be good. It is about a power couple in which the husband is a controversial OB/GYN in a small town and his wife, a trailblazing journalist turned teacher. From the description I read, it sounds like this is quite a story with lots of twists and turns.
I have to indulge my guilty pleasure and read another vampire novel. It has been all too long since I finished the Sookie Stackhouse series and it is time for another good vampire book. While I am on the subject of Sookie, Charlaine Harris is coming out with the next installment to the series in May. Can't wait!
I absolutely LOVE the new show on the CW "The Vampire Diaries." I think it is everything the Twilight movie should have been. If you haven't watched Vampire Diaries, I would highly recommend it. Even if you don't like Twilight, try it. Anyway, I love the show so much I think it would be fun to read the books. I'll report back on these books. I sure hope they are good! There's nothing better than a great read.

OMG and WTF

Kathryn Heigl has been cast as Stephanie Plum in the movie One for the Money (based on the book series by Janet Evanovich). I am really not happy about this. The rumor for a while was that Sandra Bullock (who I love) would be playing Plum... then we get this information about Heigl. Really??! This just doesn't seem like a match to me at all. Katheryn Heigl should stick to what she knows... playing annoying doctors and silly women who own excessive amounts of ugly brides maid dresses. I just don't think she can handle Stephanie Plum

Speaking of Sandra Bullock... what about this bombshell?! Right after she shines at the Oscars and Golden Globes we find out Jesse James is cheating on her?! If you missed the awards shows, she gave a long speech about how she owed everything to him and how much she loved him... what a slap in the face. I used to like Jesse James, but my opinion of him has seriously declined.

For all the Twihards... New Moon is coming out on DVD tomorrow! Anyone going to a midnight release party tonight? I won't be attending one, but if you are, cheer for Team Jacob for me! Just for the record, I am on Team Jacob ONLY in the movies. I am completely Team Edward when it comes down to the actual book.

Did everyone watch The Office last night?! Andy FINALLY made made his move on Erin. Now that Jim and Pam are together, we can root for Andy and Erin. I never really got the whole Dwight/Angela thing... it just weirded me out. Now all that's left is Michael and Holly and The Office will be perfect... well, almost.
And now for my Couch to 5K update... I can officially run 25 minutes without stopping! That's a little over 2 miles.WAHOO! I'll be ready for my 5K in a week or two. I have been pondering the idea of a 10K, and I think I might actually take a shot at it. Warmer months and sunny beautiful weather is approaching and I could stand to run for an hour each day and enjoy it. Plus, maybe I'll get a stellar tan along with a nicer figure : )
